4 Week European Tour (Oxford)
Join us over 4 evenings at St Peter's College as we learn how to taste wine like professionals and explore the major wine regions of Europe. This course will give you the knowledge to choose better wines from countries such as France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
The UK's love affair with French, Italian and Iberian wines is one that boasts quality over quantity - we love well-made wines, especially in restaurants! With our ever-growing interest in food, cooking and entertaining at home and dining out, there has never been a more important time to understand Old World wines (often these are most interesting with various food combinations)!
This tour of the Old World wines and regions will:
• introduce you to the major grape varieties
• enable you to select French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese wine with more confidence
• give you the hints and tips necessary to decipher wine labels and understand regions
• teach you principles of food and wine pairing
Please note: the course fee is £100. We ask for a £60 deposit and £10 per evening; this works out at £25.00 per evening (usual cost if you booked on a single evening is between £25 and £32.50 per evening). If you would prefer to pay the full fee in advance by BACS, please pay the £60 deposit and email us; we will send you an invoice for payment of the remaining £40.

WHAT WILL I GET FROM THE COURSE?
By the end of the four evenings you will have gained a good understanding of Europe’s major grape varieties and the wine styles they produce. You will have learnt to taste wine like a professional, and also have learnt which foods match well with which wines and why. You will also have developed your sense of smell and wine vocabulary.
CAN'T MAKE AN EVENING?
Not a problem. You may either send a substitute, or pick up the missed session on a subsequent course, so long as you give us at least 3 working days notice. We will give you a credit for any of our courses and tastings.
This course makes a great gift idea.
