Oxford Chelt Wine School uses a number of main venues, two in Oxford, and two in Cheltenham.
We have two main venues in Oxford:
Evening Wine Tastings take place at The Oxford English Centre, 66 Banbury Road, Oxford, OX2 6PR (Diagonally opposite Gee's Restaurant)
Saturday Wine Courses in Oxford are held at The Anchor, 2 Hayfield Road, Oxford, OX2 6TT
Both can be easily accessed from the City Centre by good bus routes. The tastings take place in a private room within the venues.
If you are driving to Oxford we recommend making use of one of Oxford's 5 Park and Ride services; leave your car for a nominal fee and take the bus into the city centre.
The closest Park and Ride to the Anchor is Pear Tree on the north side of Oxford and is open 24 hours a day; the S3 bus usually tabout 10 minutes to St Margarets West stop, then it is a two min walk down Polstead Road to Hayfield Road.
The closest Park and Ride to The Oxford English Centre is also Pear Tree.
If you are travelling from the centre of Oxford to The Oxford English Centre buses are available every 10 minutes from Magdalen Street.
Parking is available at The Oxford English Centre and should be accessed from the rear via Norham Road.
If you are planning on spending the night in Oxford, consider staying in an Oxford college (some colleges make rooms available to the public outside term time - that's about half the year!). To make a booking, go to Universityrooms.com. If you want more conventional hotel accommodation, see what VisitOxfordshire has to offer.
Our Evening Wine Tastings in Cheltenham are held in the Dining Room of the Wyastone Townhouse, a fine restored Victorian townhouse in the fashionable district of Montpellier (Parabola Road, GL50 3AJ). Located a short walk from the bus station and restaurants in the centre of town, it also has ample unrestricted street parking after 6pm. Cheltenham Spa railway station is less than 20 minutes walk away (5 minutes by cab). For a Google map showing the location of the Wyastone Townhouse, please click here. The Wyastone is a 5 Star Guest House with 16 stylish rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs; it also has an attractive courtyard garden, an ideal place to relax and unwind. If you are coming into Cheltenham for a tasting and would like a room, contact Lydia at firstname.lastname@example.org mentioning that you are attending a tasting.
Our Saturday wine tasting days in Cheltenham make use of a private function room at the Hotel du Vin (Parabola Road, GL50 3AJ).
